Meeting Emily and Garrett at their Cantigny Park engagement session was like running into old friends. I felt like we’ve known each other for years, and they are such a sweet couple to photograph!
Emily and Garrett’s love story goes back to their college days, when the two met at the University of Missouri. Emily was a freshman and Garrett was a junior. They met at the dining hall and the rest was history!
After dating for six years, Garrett proposed to Emily on February 20th in downtown Crystal Lake under a Gazebo in the center of town. On a chilly winter’s night, the gazebo was lit up with pretty lights. Their favorite memory of the night was the setting and being able to walk from dinner to the gazebo that built up to the very special moment. The two were also able to celebrate with our family and friends afterwards.
Garrett says that the willingness and commitment they both showed to each other throughout their relationship, as well as the families they both come from was how he knew she was the one! Emily says “I could not imagine spending my life without him. He is the most amazing man!”
These two are continuously laughing and supporting each other, and it was evident throughout this engagement session how much fun they have with each other! I cannot wait to celebrate their wedding with them on May 20, 2022. Cheers to Emily and Garrett!!
