When Becca first moved to the city, she was looking to meet someone in Chicago. Meanwhile, Tony had just sworn off dating girls in the city because he didn’t want to make that drive from the suburbs for every date! But something must have caught each other’s attention because Becca and Tony are one of those Tinder success stories.
The couple dated for about seven years before Tony popped the big question. It was in South Haven, MI – One of their favorite places to go for a vacation, and a place Tony’s family has been going to his whole life. Tony’s Dad, stepmom, sister, brother-in-law, and his five nieces and nephews were all there on the beach with the couple on the day of the proposal. At sunset, Tony asked Becca to go for a walk. After he got down on one knee and Becca of course said “Yes!” all of the nieces and nephews ran down to give them big hugs!
The Morton Arboretum was the perfect spot for Becca and Tony’s engagement session. Not only is the Morton Arboretum their wedding venue this fall, but the two love to enjoy the outdoors together. From their scenic road trip to Montana where they did all sorts of hiking, to their daily walks to their neighborhood park with their pup, Nala, they share a love for being active. Becca often jokes that she fell in love with Nala, Tony’s great dane, before Tony!
Becca says she knew that Tony was “the one” when she saw what a great friend Tony was. He is the kind of guy that goes out of his way to coordinate a group of friends when someone is down in the dumps to cheer them up. Despite his tough exterior, Tony is very caring and would do anything for his friends and family, which is what Becca loves most about him.
Tony says that he knew Becca was the one when she took care of him during a pretty bad case of shingles early on in their relationship. Becca dropped everything and took him to all of the doctor appointments and made sure he was ok. He said that he felt instantly that he could trust her, and he doesn’t feel that way with many people, let alone that soon!
The couple often back on their first date jokingly, and laughs about how horrible it was. Tony was working odd hours at FedEx and had to drink a Red Bull during our date just to stay awake. Becca originally took his tiredness as disinterest. Luckily, for whatever reason they decided to keep going on more dates, and it only got better each time. There must have been some kind of spark that obviously made the long drives so worth it!

Tony designed the pear shaped diamond himself. The ring has a gold setting from Blue Nile. He asked a few of Becca’s friends prior to proposing to get an idea of whether she wanted gold, silver, or rose gold, but he didn’t get much help because Becca loves all three. She says the ring is absolutely perfect and she loves it!
Congratulations on your engagement Becca and Tony! I am so excited to capture your most important day in Sept 2022!
