The Chicago Riverwalk is one of my favorite locations throughout the city to take engagement photos! With City Winery and all of the other restaurants that keep popping up along the river, there is always fun to be had. What better place to take in the architecturally stunning landscapes of the city than with the energy of the riverwalk? One of the best parts about this location is the proximity to the bridges, such as the Kinzie or the Lasalle St Bridge, to take a short walk for an iconic bridge photo.

Emily and Tyler were such a joy to have in front of the camera on this warm, summer night. We started the session at the Chicago Theater to capture the quintessential photo in front of the Chicago sign. I always schedule engagement sessions approximately one hour before sunset, for the glowy, golden light and a beautiful sky. The couple chose to do an outfit change to showcase both: a fun and stylish, but more casual look, as well as a second, more formal and elegant look.

We ended the session at the iconic Chicago skyline in front of the Wrigley Building, where Emily and Tyler popped champagne before heading to their dinner reservation. The love and joy between the couple was palpable, and I felt honored to be able to document such a special time in their lives. The season of being engaged is one of the most exciting times of a couple’s lives, and therefore should be captured beautifully and remembered. The Chicago Riverwalk is not just a scenic location for engagement photos, but a place that is full of charm. This session was a perfect mix of playful joy, romance, and elegance. I cannot wait to be part of their upcoming wedding day!
