Courtney and Scottie’s engagement session at the iconic Milton Lee Olive Park was such a joy to capture! It’s impossible not to feel their love for each other within minutes of being with them!
THEIR STORY
They met through a dating app during the first month of the pandemic. They were in the same graduating class at the University of Illinois, with quite a few mutual friends that they were able to reach out to for the scoop on each other before even meeting! Their first date included ordering chicken sandwiches, and the rest is history.
The couple shares similar family values and experiences, and credits their family for their lives being so much richer and happier because of them. Courtney and Scottie make each other laugh every day. A favorite memory that stands out for Scottie is their drive home from Courtney’s brother’s lake house. They were jamming to music after a super fun weekend and their first little trip together. For Courtney, it was when Scottie agreed to come on her family’s ski trip six months into the relationship and was up for learning to ski for the very first time. His strength of character and fearless sense of adventure made her fall in love all over again! The two dated for three years before the proposal.
THE PROPOSAL
Courtney’s family was supposed to take a trip to Greece for her parents’ 30th anniversary. It ended up being postponed due to the pandemic. Scottie secured himself an invite and saw it as a perfect opportunity to propose. While in Santorini, the family was all gathering together for a photo session. Once Scottie got Courtney alone for their own little photo opportunity he told her what she meant to him and asked her to marry him. She said “YES!” The couple describes it as one of the most beautiful and magical moment of their lives.
THE WEDDING
Courtney and Scottie are planning a beautiful summer wedding in July 2024 at the iconic Chicago Blackstone Hotel. It is going to be just magical, and I cannot wait to be there to capture their special day!
