Between this summer’s heat wave, and all of the earlier rain we had this season, Nicole and Phil finally landed on the PERFECT night for an engagement session at North Avenue Beach! And let me tell you, there was no shortage of laughs from these two!

Their story

Like every solid relationship, Nicole and Phil were friends for many years before they started dating. She was working at a local bank where Phil was a customer, and he later found her on Facebook this way.

After 4 years of dating, Phil proposed when the two were on a cruise with both sets of parents and siblings. It was one of the last nights of the trip, and Phil wanted to take Nicole to their favorite spot on the ship and have photos taken.

You would think that having both sets of parents and both sets of siblings along on this trip would have been a bit of a giveaway, but it wasn’t! Nicole had no idea. Phil was especially on his A-game when planning for this proposal because he threw Nicole way off.

When the couple looked at rings together a few weeks before the trip, the jeweler showed Nicole a few different settings, and then explained that it would take 8-10 weeks to make. Phil set this all up and asked her to say that because the ring was ready in just a few days! I’m impressed, Phil!

Nicole says, “Phil NEVER fails to make me laugh. And every time I do get mad at him (which isn’t often) he makes me laugh.” She also admits that she knew before they started dating that he was the one. She saw him at work and as he was walking out, she quietly said to a coworker “I bet I’m going to marry that guy one day.” And the rest was history!
