Hurley Gardens is the hidden gem of Wheaton! A former historic estate, the early 20th-century tea house and garden are tucked in between neighborhood townhomes. I had the BEST time getting to know Maxi and Mark at their engagement session. The couple met at a holiday work party because they had been working at the same company at the time. Maxi took over Mark’s position, but was introduced to Mark through a friend in management. Maxi says they clicked immediately!
The two dated for three years before Mark popped the question. When Mark was ready to propose, Maxi suspected that the proposal was coming. But with the help of her best friend, Mark was able to totally throw her off and pull of the most unexpected surprise. Maxi was out one getting her nails done one Friday during the holidays. Mark isn’t a city guy, but he planned a date downtown. Maxi was so confident that the proposal was happening that weekend in the city that her manicure was free! On the drive home, Maxi was FaceTiming her with best friend, who assured her it was happening soon but probably not until after the new year.
Maxi got home from the nail appointment, excited to tell Mark all about how it was free, when she found a trail of rose petals leading her to Mark standing in front of the Christmas tree. Mark was holding Maxi’s daughter and her dream ring, and Maxi was in complete shock. She soon realized that the best friend she was FaceTiming on the drive home was in on the whole thing. Maxi describes this moment as the “best day ever!” Mark is so wonderful with Maxi’s daughter, and it’s one of the many reasons she knew he was the one for her. They are very family-oriented, and value the traditions of their Polish culture.
I feel so lucky to be there wedding photographer, and I’m so excited for their big day in July 2023!
