Michelle and Mike’s story begins when the two reconnected on Hinge. But even before that, both of their moms worked together as nurses. For so many years, these two knew “of each other…” They balance each other out in their relationship, and they know what they need to do to lift the other person up on bad days. Michelle and Mike value their faith, family and friends above all a strong foundation that will keep their relationship strong through the ups and downs of life.
Michelle knew Mike was “the one” when he helped her move out of her apartment at 10:00pm during a very busy weekend in Chicago. Mike drove a U-Haul to the suburbs and back, ending the moving out process around 2 am. There were no questions asked, he just helped. Mike says knew he wanted to marry Michelle “so long ago, that he can’t even remember” (Which might just be one of my favorite answers yet!!)
After three years of dating, Mike surprised Michelle after work by decorating their apartment with roses and candles. Michelle says it was totally unexpected, in the best way possible! They celebrated at their favorite restaurant, Carmine’s, after Mike proposed.

Mike picked out the ring himself (with no helpful tips whatsoever) at a local jeweler in Chicago. It is a round cut diamond with a gold band because he wanted it to match Michelle’s grandma’s gold bracelet that she always wears.
