In the summer of 2016, I decided that if I want to explore Europe, there was no better time than the present. There was really nothing to hold me back. I’d been abroad before, and I loved traveling with friends. The problem was I didn’t have many takers this particular summer. So, I did what any person with a thirst for adventure would do. I booked a trip to Europe by myself – A month long tour that would take me through 26 cities and 15 countries.
This turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. AND – This is precisely where my photography journey began.
I crossed the pond with nothing but smart phone, thinking it’ll be the best bet for traveling “light.” I quickly realized how many people had those fancy DSLR cameras and soon realized the drastic difference in quality between their “fancy camera photos” and my cell phone photos.
Upon my return to the US, I began my search for my very first DSLR camera, made some purchases, and began taking courses. If I was going to have one of these “fancy” cameras, I was definitely going to learn everything I can and do it right. Thus, JANET D PHOTOGRAPHY was born!
I find it only appropriate then, to decided this post to the most amazing month I got to spend in Europe. I booked the month-long tour through a travel group called Expat Explore. If anyone ever wants to chat about this, I am always open and willing and ENCOURAGING of everyone to jump on an adventure of a lifetime whenever they can.
