A Union League Club of Chicago wedding is the perfect setting for a celebration that feels timeless, elegant, and distinctly Chicago! Alyssa and Andrew’s beautiful summer wedding brought together the classic, moody atmosphere of the Union League Club with soft, romantic details that made the entire day feel effortlessly beautiful.

A Meaningful Ceremony at St. Alphonsus Church

The day began with a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Alphonsus Church in Chicago. The church’s beautiful architecture created such a meaningful backdrop as Alyssa and Andrew exchanged their vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. There was something so special about the contrast between the historic setting of the church and the softness of the wedding details that would follow.

After the ceremony, we headed downtown for portraits at the iconic Wrigley Building. With the architecture and energy of the city surrounding them, Alyssa and Andrew were able to take in a few quiet moments together while we captured portraits. Chicago has a way of making wedding portraits feel both classic and completely personal, and this was no exception!

A Timeless Celebration at the Union League Club

From there, the celebration continued at the Union League Club of Chicago. The timeless architecture and dark, moody interiors of the club created an incredible setting for the reception. Alyssa and Andrew’s vision brought such beauty to the space, with a palette of soft white and pale pink florals, candlelit tables, and the prettiest baby blue satin bridesmaid dresses. The combination felt classic and romantic.

One of my favorite things about this wedding was how naturally every element worked together! The grandeur of the Union League Club provided a beautiful contrast to the delicate florals and candlelight, creating a reception that felt elevated, intimate, and incredibly timeless.

A Love Story Rooted in Adventure

Alyssa and Andrew have known each other for eight years, dating for nearly the entirety of that time. They met while studying abroad, and their love of travel has remained such an important part of their relationship. They are always planning their next adventure and adding new destinations to their bucket list, which feels especially fitting for a couple whose story began so far from home.

Andrew proposed in December 2024 at the Lincoln Park Honeycomb. He had told Alyssa they were going to meet his aunt to see the ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo. Instead, he surprised her with a proposal at one of Chicago’s most recognizable landmarks.

Their wedding day felt much the same way their relationship does – thoughtful, joyful, and completely effortless. Nothing needed to be forced. Every part of the day simply unfolded beautifully, surrounded by the people who love them most!

It was such a pleasure getting to photograph Alyssa and Andrew’s wedding day. From St. Alphonsus to the Wrigley Building and finally to the timeless halls of the Union League Club… Every setting added something special to their story.
