I knew the Telfer wedding was going to be amazing when I met Kim and James at their engagement session! Kim & James chose a variety of Chicago locations to capture their love for each other and the magnificent city of Chicago. The sage and white signature colors of their special day accented the timeless vision Kim had for this day perfectly!
For starters, the wedding day began when the couple started getting ready for the day at the Westin Chicago River North. Kim and James also experienced their first look on a patio terrace outside the hotel. Having a first look allows the couple to have so much more time together on their wedding day, maximizing the amount of portraits with multiple locations before the ceremony.
For the first portrait location, Kim and James rented out the cupola at the Londonhouse. These are some of the most epic views of Chicago, allowing us to capture some stunning photos atop the city with the urban skyline and architecture. We also traveled to Museum Campus and Olive Park for various other city views and signature photos along the Chicago skyline. Olive Park, with the blooming greenery in season, was a nice mix of city and nature and provided so much more variety in the wedding gallery.
Finally, the ceremony and reception took place at Greenhouse Loft! The Greenhouse Loft has outdoor courtyard setting and indoor ceremony space as well. Kim and James exchanged vows indoors due to the rain in the forecast, and the beautiful floral installations made for the perfect light & modern look.
One of my favorite details of the day was that the cake topper was the original cake topper that Kim’s grandparents had at their wedding. The bride and groom danced to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Kin Grannis for their first dance. The same song (the Elvis version) was James’ parents wedding song. Congratulations to the newly married Mr. and Mrs. James Telfer!
