Jenna and Nick were such a delight to meet during their Chicago engagement session! The city holds many special places for Jenna and Nick, especially during the last year. They have spent many hours walking along the lakefront, parks near the Lincoln Park Zoo, and even got engaged in the city last summer! Two of my new favorite Chicago locations are the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool and North Pond where we shot their summer engagement photos. These are some of the most spectacular views of the city!
Both Jenna and Nick ended up being transfer students after their freshman year of college. They met at American University in Washington, D.C. during their orientation meeting summer of 2015. They lived down the hall from each other that year. Also, Nick was roommates with one of Jenna’s best friends. However, it wasn’t until they both signed up for early morning classes during their spring semester that they started to see each other in the cafeteria at 6:00am twice a week.
These early morning breakfast run-ins turned into casual conversations at first. Soon, they were considering them “breakfast dates” and something they looked forward to each morning! By May 2016, they were officially dating! Fast forward four years later and Nick asks Jenna the question of a lifetime.
Nick and Jenna often walked along the lakefront during 2020. While they both have stressful jobs, the serene environment near the Museum Campus near the Adler Planetarium turned into one of Jenna’s favorite spots. Often, they would slow dance along the lakefront and share special moments together. On her birthday in July 2020, Nick got down on one knee during their dance to pop the question! Jenna said yes to a lifetime with Nick. The ring was exactly what Jenna wanted with a diamond band and hidden halo from Dimend Scaasi.
Congrats to Jenna and Nick! I cannot wait for their spring wedding filled with lots of peonies and love in May 2022!
