Staci and Zach met one weekend at ISU during freshmen year. Zach attended EIU, but was visiting a friend at Illinois State University where Staci attended. The two had never met before that night even though they shared mutual friends. That night, Staci and Zach just clicked with one another. The later came to find out that their parents only lived about 1.5 miles apart!
Zach proposed on a weekend trip to Austin, Tx in June of 2021. They were both hiking up Mount Bonnell to see the sunset after a day of exploring of Austin. He found a secluded spot overlooking a beautiful lake to view the sunset and set up a tripod stand up with his phone in it. Zach often sets up a time lapse of the sunset on their trips, so Staci didn’t think anything of this! He started talking to her about how they’ve been together for so long, then distracted her by having her look at some of the beautiful homes right on the lake right before he popped the question! Staci didn’t realize until afterwards that the phone wasn’t even pointing at the sunset. She says she had no idea the proposal was happening on that trip, but it was a very good surprise she had been waiting for!
The two have set the date for April 8, 2022, and I am so excited to capture their big day next Spring! Congrats Staci and Zach!!
