Summer Engagement Photos at Museum Campus

On the evening of Liz and Adam’s session, there was a storm rolling in and we went back and forth contemplating whether or not we should reschedule. We ultimately decided to go for it, and I’m so glad we did! We ended up having such a pretty sky and got so lucky that everything worked out!

Adam and Liz met in college at Eastern Illinois University. They were just friends in college, but intentionally started hanging out right around the time of graduation. The two inevitably went their separate ways and started their own post-college lives. Fast forward 2 years, and they ran into each-other while both recently single. After this encounter, they started hanging out more and more, and eventually ended up dating in November of 2020. They’ve been inseparable ever since!

After three years of dating, Adam proposed in Chicago on the lakefront. He knew that Liz loved the lake and being around bodies of water. The couple was out for a walk on the lakefront looking at the boats in the playpen when Adam got down on one knee. Before Liz realized it, she heard the snaps from a photographer that snuck up on them. She was too caught up in the moment to really realize what was going on, and before they knew it, they were popping champagne.

Liz and Adam say their relationship is special because they’ve known each other for almost a decade. They felt their relationship was meant to be and inevitable from the start. Throughout the years every time they would run into each other, they would remember how much fun they always have together

Liz says she knew Adam was the one because she was constantly laughing whenever he was around. She saw the rest of her life with him. “Enjoying life with Adam is all I’ve ever saw in my future, finding the positives and a way to smile no matter what life throws at us felt very secure to me,” says Liz about her fiancé. Adam says, “What really did it for me was when Liz took care of me after I had surgery before we even started dating. She was there for me day and night and really went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. Her compassion and selflessness is how I knew she was the one!”

These two are just the sweetest, and their energy and love for one another is evident in the images. I’m so excited to capture the wedding day next summer!
