Bridgeport Art Center Wedding

Lauren and Will: August 1, 2020

Lauren and Will’s micro Chicago wedding at the Bridgeport Art Center just proved that your wedding day can still be a dream, even during this pandemic. In the season of so many postponements and even more unknowns, I commend all of my couples who are still having their wedding on their original date, however they are able to do so! All of my JDP couples this season continue to prove that their love is strong enough to handle whatever curve balls are thrown their way. Lauren and Will are no exception. Moreover, these two could not wait to become husband and wife! You can see this in both of their faces when Lauren is walking down the aisle and Will sees his bride for the first time.

Their Story

The day started like most of Lauren and Will’s momentous occasions, with a little bit of morning rain. I add this detail because it poured on both the day Will proposed to Lauren and on the day of their fall engagement session in Chicago last year! They’re both such great sports about dancing in the rain.

The Ceremony

Furthermore, Lauren and Will’s ceremony was held at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. With only immediate family members present on both the bride and groom’s side, it was beautiful to see all of their little nieces and nephews present for the start of their marriage. After all, marriage is all about bringing families together.

Bridgeport Art Center: Sculpture Garden Gallery

Following the ceremony, the bridal party headed over to the Bridgeport Art Center. This is where Lauren and Will’s postponed reception is scheduled to take place later in 2021. Weddings at the Bridgeport Art Center are a dream for light and airy wedding photography. The Bridgeport Art Center is a unique and artistic venue. It showcases Chicago’s urban elegance. We did all of the bridal party portraits in the Sculpture Garden Gallery of this wedding venue! Afterward, since Lauren and Will chose to not see each other before the wedding, we did all of the husband and wife portraits there as well.

Congratulations to the newlyweds – Mr. and Mrs. Draeger! I cannot wait to continue the celebration at the postponement!
